19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

It is his first championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Success also means he has secured 21 victories at 21 different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had caused commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a third set.

Moutet defended four early-game break points in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
